Chicks

From February until May, orders have a shipping minimum of 10 chicks to ensure that chicks stay warm enough during transit. During the warmer months, we drop the minimum to 6 chicks. For Local Pickup, the minimum is 2 chicks per order.  

Please add in the Notes Section of your order when you would prefer to have your order shipped if there is a preference. Please reach out to us before placing your order to see our estimated wait times if you are wanting your chicks ASAP, as orders are filled in the order in which they were placed. We set eggs specifically for orders placed. 

Huxley’s Homestead’s official policy is that we do not issue refunds or cancellations on orders placed unless we are unable to complete an order within the selected shipping year. You agree to these terms and conditions at checkout when placing an order through us.

Chicks are sent the day of hatch and packed with Gro-gel, feed, and heat packs to ensure they stay hydrated and warm during their trip. Chicks are sent Express through USPS and typically take 1-2 days to arrive. Shipping is a flat rate of $65 per box. This includes the cost of shipment, shipping box, shipping pad, Gro-gel, and heat packs for the chicks. One box holds up to 25 chicks. Any order over 25 chicks will require a second shipping box.

Eggs
 
Hatching Egg orders are scheduled on a first come first served basis.
We ship our eggs with lots of love and care to minimize poor handling. Please include your preferred ship date in the notes section of your order if you don’t want them first available. If you leave the notes section blank eggs will be shipped out once the order is available and filled. Eggs will ship out Monday-Wednesdays. If we are not able to ship out your order for the date you desired we will reach out to schedule the next available option. Once shipped, the eggs typically arrive in 1-3 business days.
 
There are no guarantees on hatching eggs. Please buy only if you are willing to risk that they may not hatch. Your eggs can be rendered infertile due to x-rays, be damaged during shipping or transport, or be subject to temperature extremes. These are issues beyond our control and are an inherent risk of mailed hatching eggs. Per our policy we do not issue refunds or cancelations on orders placed. If we are not able to fulfil the order within the shipping year we will refund you only under those circumstances.
